WHO BETTER TO TELL YOU  ABOUT THE COLLEGE THAN THE STUDENTS THEMSELVES:

SOCIAL SCIENCE

E Barker, 2019 Graduate now studying on a four year Social Studies Degree course  in TU Dublin Blanchardstown Campus

"I am truly grateful for all of the help I got from each teacher in Whitehall College. I learned a lot and took on board so much new information that helped me figure out what I wanted to do.  This lead me to access a four-year Degree in Social Care. The time and patience you had with each student will never leave me. All the teachers were great. I highly recommend Whitehall College of Further Education and the Social Science course in particular."

DIGITAL MARKETING

In my year at Whitehall I have learnt so much not only academically it has prepared me for the upcoming years in my 3rd level education. I have made so many new friends at Whitehall. The tutors offer continuous support and advice and I would highly recommend this digital marketing course to anyone who has an interest in progressing further in the area of marketing. EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATION STUDENTS (APPLIED LANGUAGES DEPARTMENT)

Studying at Whitehall College gave me confidence, knowledge and necessary skills to succeed in my future plans and it made me more aware about lack of my skills and what areas I need to improve. It was an enjoyable experience for me and one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I found the content of the course very interesting and teachers’ support during this year was invaluable. I was very honoured when my class tutor asked me to be a speaker on the graduation ceremony. I would recommend Whitehall College to everybody, especially for those who wish to improve their English - MARCIN LESNIAK (15/16)

Executive Administration, Applied Languages Department

Studying at Whitehall College was a challenging but enjoyable experience. Returning to education as a mature student was a life changing decision. The course has given me renewed self-confidence, boosted my self-esteem and provided a great stepping stone for my future studies. I have met a lot of interesting people and made lifelong friends. I found the teachers to be very helpful, approachable and always willing to help. Their commitment, enthusiasm and dedication is remarkable and enables students like myself to achieve their dreams! - RODICA ZGARDAN

EDUCATION AND TRAINING COURSE STUDENT 2016/17

"I became a Whitehall College student in 2016 studying the QQI Level 5 Education and Training Programme. While on this programme you also get to attend two modules with Dublin City University.  For anyone who has never been to college or it has been a long time since you were in college I would 100% recommend the QQI level 5 Education and Training at Whitehall College. It prepares you for studying at level 8 and it links with Third Level Colleges in Ireland. For example, if you pass the two DCU modules and achieve the QQI 5 Major award in Education and Training (with 3 Distinctions and 3 Merits) you have the chance to go onto year 1 of the full-time BSc Degree Education & Training in DCU.  Whitehall College is an inclusive and supportive environment; I cannot say enough how amazing the teachers are. They are some of the hardest working, professional, supportive and nicest teachers. Also other staff in the college (the porters and canteen staff) are lovely too; they really make you feel welcomed. Social events are also held throughout the year for holidays like Halloween and Christmas to name a few – it is fun and you get an opportunity to socialise with students who are studying other courses.  Thank you Whitehall College!" - Maria Whelan

EDUCATION AND TRAINING COURSE STUDENT 2016/17

"Doing the access programme with Whitehall College and DCU has been hugely beneficial for me.  The course has given me a very strong foundation of knowledge and skills that I've been able to use to my advantage and easily build on this year.  Along with this, gaining familiarity with DCU, their campuses, the library, etc. before beginning the full time level 8 this year has also been a huge added bonus, allowing me to start the year with my best foot forward.  Overall, I feel that the course has fully prepared me for third level education, while still being fun and enjoyable, and I couldn't recommend it highly enough!" - IAN McCCABE

'Completing the Education and training course in Whitehall college taught me many skills and also helped boost my confidence level but most importantly it guided me in the right direction to a degree I love, and I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. When doing my Leaving Certificate, I thought if I didn’t receive any CAO offers it was the end of the world, but the Education and Training programme at Whitehall college gave me the opportunity to progress onto third level education. The progression route from this course taught me that not receiving what you want from the leaving certificate isn’t the end of the world.' - AMY O'SHEA

EDUCATION AND TRAINING COURSE STUDENT

I am currently an undergraduate student studying the B.S.c in Education and Training in DCU.  Without doubt I would never have been able to make the transition into 3rd level without the help, support and guidance of all the teaching staff in Whitehall College.  The college provides a friendly teaching environment and my coursework though challenging was very enjoyable.  The fantastic support from all the teachers really help to build my confidence.  Enrolling in Whitehall College was a positive, enjoyable learning experience. - ELAINE COURAGE

NUTRITION AND DIETETICS STUDENTS

I studied Nutrition and Dietetics (Food Science level 5) at Whitehall College of Further Education from 2016-2017.  I found the modules really interesting and the classes very enjoyable.  The classes were small which made it more intimate, we got to know our lovely lecturers and they were so attentive and approachable.

It's a really beautiful building which makes studying there extra enjoyable!  Studying this course presented so many opportunities for me, it got me into my level 8 bachelor honours degree in Sports Science and Health in Technological University Dublin Tallaght Campus.  I ended up receiving a first class honour degree, If I had not studied at Whitehall College this would never have happened!

The course in Whitehall College prepared me for third level, and I made friends for life!  I would definately recommend the course to anyone testing the waters for a course in the Food Science area.  PATRICIA RAFTER

I studied Nutrition and Dietetics in Whitehall College from 2021-2022.

I throughly enjoyed the course and found each individual module very interesting.  Each module had particular aspects specific to that topic that also added to a wider understanding of Nutrition and Dietetics.  I also had the choice to do extra modules such as Maths.  I was'nt great at Maths in secondary school, but this module really improved my confidence.

I joined the course a couple of weeks late, but the class was small, so it was super easy to make friends.  Tutors were also very accomodating and did their best to help me with assignments, a trait that carried throughout the year.

This year I am studying a Bachelors in Health and Society in DCU, a course I would not have been able to do otherwise.  Some of the content I did at Whitehall College is also covered in my course and it is great to have already covered it.

Overall I really enjoyed my time at Whitehall College, and I would recommend the course to anyone interested in Nutrition and Dietetics.  CLAIRE SEXTON

I registered to do a one year Nutrition & Dietetics course at Whitehall College in 2021/2022.  I must say I really enjoyed it as I have always wanted to be in the health field to help people regain their physical, mental and psychological health.  The tutors were extremely helpful in all the modules that I did, and I came out with good grades at the end. In the course of my learning, I decided to write a nursing test to enable me to have more options and choices in my zeal to be in the healthcare field.  I passed the exams and got admission into the prestigious University Trinity College to do nursing (Mental Health).  I am so excited as I see myself doing most of the modules, I completed at Whitehall College!  Thanks to my Whitehall College tutors for their help and encouragement to reach my goal, and for helping to make my University course modules easy.  AGATHA OFFOMA

Hi! I am Sinead Gibney and I am currently studying Food Innovation at Technological University Dublin majoring in Brewing and Distilling.  After completing my Leaving Certificate and receiving a CAO offer for my course, I did not feel ready to dive right into the course, so I deferred my place for a year.

I was recommended by many people in my life to do a PLC course to get some experience before starting my bachelor's degree.  I started studying Nutrition and Dietetics in Whitehall College in September 2019 and finished up in May 2020.

When I started my bachelor's degree, I found that I was ready for assignments and what was expected of me more than ever could have been straight from secondary school.  This I owe to my teachers at Whitehall College of Further Education.  I'm in my third year of college now and I am still using the information I learned during my PLC course.  SINEAD GIBNEY

HEALTH ADMINISTRATION

Finding myself at a bit of a stagnant place in my life, I began to think about going back to education to find a new skill to develop.  Being a 'mature student' made me feel a little hesitant, but after doing some research, I decided to attend an Open Day at Whitehall College, with an eye towards the Health Administration course.  I was so glad I did!  The staff were so incredibly helpful and informative, and very encouraging!  I decided to take the plunge and sign up.  It was almost a year long course, and some of it was quite challenging but I felt supported by all the instructors, who always made themselves available if I needed them.  It was an extremely fulfilling year, I never once felt out of place.  I graduated with distinctions, and found a perfect job as a result.  I never looked back, it was one of the best decisions I ever made.  Whitehall College was a perfect fit for me.
