Healthcare Assistant and English (ESOL)
Course Description
Learners work towards the QQI Level 5 Health Service Skills major award while also developing their English language skills. If you are over 21 and 6 months unemployed you may be eligible for VTOS (Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme). This scheme gives unemployed adults over 21 the opportunity of returning to full time education, while retaining their benefit.

There is a strong emphasis on improving English Language skills
First aid and manual handling training is provided.

Opportunity to sit internationally recognised English language exams (Cambridge) - subject to change
Progression / Employment
Students will be eligible for employment in a wide range of care settings.
Entry Requirements
Applicants will be asked to provide two written references.
Applicants will be required to take an English Language assessment.
Garda Vetting must be completed at registration in September.
