Learning/Disability Support
The college is accessible to students who may have additional needs. The college has the services of a disability officer and a learning support specialist who will help assess the requirements of any students who have mobility difficulties or other physical or learning difficulties.
Learning/ Disability Support
The aim of this service is to support individual students or groups of students to maximize their learning experiences. Information, advice and guidance on learning are provided to students. The Service makes arrangements for educational psychological assessments, assistive technology and assessment of needs.
Applications are made by the college on an individual basis to the HEA support fund for support needs identified by the Disability Officer. This support may include the employment of Personal Assistants, Note-takers and Readers. It may also involve the purchasing of Assistive Technology. Relevant information needs to be provided on application. Officially registered guide dogs may accompany visually impaired students.
